About Kelly Murray
(She/Her) I am a native Oregonian and my education includes a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College (2008) and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Portland State University (2005). I obtained my license from the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists in 2011. I have been in private practice since 2013. Before private practice, I worked in residential treatment centers, community mental health agencies, Portland DBT/Portland DBT Institute, a research setting, and taught as an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark College.
I use psychodynamic, jungian, expressive, somatic, attachment-based, EMDR and parts work to individualize treatment.
My style is warm, relational, and direct.
I have participated in a bi-weekly Depth Psychology Consult group with psychologist/jungian analyst Donald Kalsched Ph.D. since Sept 2020.
Level I and II Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment with Janina Fisher via Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (2023-2024). I also have also participated in consultation groups with Janina Fisher 2025 regarding her TIST method (parts work/complex PTSD work).
Levels I and II of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute’s trauma and developmental trauma training (2015-2019).
EMDR Basic Training in 2019 and year-long supervision and certification via EMDRIA (2020).
I have trained in Hakomi through M.E.T.A. (2016) and with the Hakomi Institute of California in Berkeley, CA (2016).
I have Gestalt training through the Gestalt Therapy Training Center Northwest with Steve Zahm Ph.D. and Eva Gold Ph.D. in Portland, OR (2014-2015) as well as other Gestalt training at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA.
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy by Behavioral Tech LLC from 2012-2013. I worked on the eating disorder team at Portland DBT/Portland DBT Institute for from 2012-2014. I treated eating disorders and other co-occuring issues/disorders with adults, teens and families.
200-hour yoga teacher training certification with Tiffany Cruikshank in 2010.
Eating Disorders Certificate Program through Lewis & Clark College Graduate School of Education and Counseling 2006-2007.
I am licensed as Professional Counselor in both Oregon and Washington. As a member of the Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, I am required to complete 40 credits of Continuing Education in Counseling Psychology/Ethics every two years.
Personally, I enjoy parenting, music, playing guitar, reading, movement, travel. I have been engaged in my own psychotherapy for a long time.
